Superior Lagoon View - These rooms do not have balconies, but their windows provide views of sunsets and Nichupt? Lagoon. In addition to the furnishings contained in Standard Garden View rooms, these larger rooms include a rattan easy chair with footstool. Deluxe Ocean View - These rooms are identical to Superior Lagoon View rooms except their windows face the multi-colored Caribbean. Deluxe Ocean View rooms also offer one king bed or two double beds and accommodate a maximum of four guests.

Club Floor - Located on the top floor of the resort's six-floor wing, spacious Club Floor rooms include large furnished balconies with sweeping views of the Caribbean. In addition to the standard amenities, these rooms include bathrobes, a scale, a lighted makeup mirror, a large marble vanity in a separate dressing area, and luxury toiletries. Club Floor rooms include complimentary food?a Continental breakfast and afternoon appetizers served in a ground-floor lounge staffed by a concierge. These rooms offer one king bed or two double beds and accommodate a maximum of two guests. Children are not permitted to stay in these rooms.

For suites, complimentary food consists of either a buffet breakfast in Frutas y Flores restaurant or Continental breakfast in the Club Floor lounge, as well as afternoon appetizers in the six-floor wing's lounge. Children are not permitted to stay in suites.

Junior Suite - Located on the top floor of the resort's 10-floor tower, these suites include a large, terrace-like balcony with panoramic views of the Caribbean and contain a spa, plus two chairs with bright yellow cushions. Set up like luxury apartments, Junior suites include a wood-ceiling living room furnished with a rattan couch-and-chairs set around a glass-top coffee table, a marble-top desk with two pink-cushion chairs, and a second television. Bedrooms contain a low glass table sided by two low, white-cushion chairs on a blue-and-white striped rug. Bathrooms feature a twin-sink, red-marble vanity. All the amenities found in Club rooms are also included. Junior suites offer one king bed and accommodate a maximum of two guests.

Master Suite - Also located on the top floor of the resort's 10-floor tower, Master suites are set up like Junior suites, but with the addition of a second bedroom and bathroom. All three rooms?two bedrooms and living room?have access to the balcony. Master suites offer one king bed in each bedroom and accommodate a maximum of four guests.

Presidential Suite - This one-of-a-kind corner suite, located on the top floor of the six-floor tower, includes a two-person jetted tub in the main bathroom and a 6-by-10-foot plunge pool on one of two large balconies providing views all around the resort. In the suite's dining area, a marble-top table seats eight. In the elevated living room an entertainment center provides a 27-inch television, a DVD player, a CD player, and plush couches and chairs. A kitchenette includes a microwave oven, a refrigerator, and a rangetop, and has a breakfast counter with stools. The Presidential suite has two bedrooms with baths, offers one king bed in the master bedroom and two double beds in the second bedroom, and accommodates a maximum of four guests.

Frutas y Flores - "Fruits and Flowers" serves buffet breakfast until noon in an air-conditioned room with a glass ceiling and green and white linens.

Cabibeno - Outdoor, casual, and on the beach, this open-air restaurant under a huge palapa is open for dinner and features a Mexican/international buffet and ? la carte selections.

Cana Brava - Open from late morning until sunset, this laid-back spot serves light fare and tropical drinks.

Amenity highlights: Built by the Mexican government when it undertook to develop Canc?n as a destination resort, the hotel is on what is arguably Canc?n's best beach which is broad (150 yards), deep (75 yards), flat, blindingly white, and won't burn bare feet. Located on Mujeres Bay instead of the open Caribbean, the water is calm and perfect for family swimming. The resort includes two square pools, one large and adults-only, the other even larger and bordered on one side by a pyramid with cascading water.
